WOMEN in EMPOWERMENT!
Operation Empowerment is a mission aiming to help two groups of women, the first being underprivileged women living at/below the poverty line and second being women who are survivors of domestic assault. Underprivileged women can be seen going through clothing bins at Good Will or Salvation Army just to find something without stains to wear so they can feel like a human. We want to give them something so they can feel like a WOMAN, and to feel beautiful and empowered to take back that womanhood. To that effect, women all over the country including our charity sent in donated sets totaling 640 sets (retail value $7,600+) which we divvied up into 3 missions across NJ: DRESS FOR SUCCESS, ACCESS FAMILIES SERVICES and CENTER FOR HOPE AND SAFETY, the latter 2 being domestic violence support organizations and shelters.
Special mention to Penny Stafford Kriews and her Polish Stars team for donating over 500 sets!
Thank you to all the sisters who joined me in helping fellow sisters in need.
TGM worked together with Covenant Fellowship Church to host a mason jar painting for charity. We raised $320 with 100% of all proceeds being split evenly between two charities, $160 to Operation Christmas Child's Samaritan Purse and $160 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are so grateful for everyone who joined the event to support such noble causes and had a wonderful time watching everyone unleash their creativity!
Through direct donations and charitable logo and graphic design, we raised $510 for our featured charity of 3nd quarter 2021, 100% of which was donated to American Diabetes Association. More than 10% of the U.S. population has diabetes. The American Diabetes Association's mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. Some of our direct donors are living with diabetes and we are glad to give to such a good cause.
The Giving Mood hosted a mason jar paint + sip where we were joined by 10 adults and 4 kids to come together to paint for a good cause. We raised $250 of which 100% was donated to the League Education & Treatment Center's LAND Gallery which is a 501(c)(3) organization that serves as a habilitation program to help artists with developmental disabilities. As many of us are lovers of art, their mission rang true for us. Art is therapeutic and everyone has the right to express themselves through creativity and we appreciate LAND Gallery supporting adults who normally might not have that opportunity.
The Giving Mood hosted a one-hour meditation session with a professional yogi and meditation guide to “jeditate” in support of the Jed Foundation, an organization that protects emotional health and prevents suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults. Together, along with others who donated but were unable to attend, we raised $210 to support this amazing cause.
If you or someone you know is having suicidal thoughts and/or depression, please reach out for help to the Jed Foundation by texting “START” to 741-741 or call 1-800-273-TALK (8255). You can also reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline available 24/7 (1-800-273-8255).

[They] support radical improvements to the care they receive. And [they] pioneer research to find solutions to the biggest health threats to moms and babies.” The donation was made in honor of baby Nico Magilbry Bhatta (March 4, 2021 - March 6, 2021). Please do not forget his name.

The Giving Mood raised $200, all of which was donated to the National Forest Foundation to help plant trees, restore watersheds, and protect crucial habitats. Sometimes we feel so small and hopeless but together we really can make a difference. This event was our first ever charity run in beautiful Nomahegan Park in Cranford where we ran (and walked) 2.5 miles. Even a 7-year old joined us and was our leader for a good portion of it! We are so very humbled by the generosity, love and support of everyone who made the effort to be a part of this.
KIDS HELPING KIDS! The Giving Mood (together with CB Cubed) listed 25 items for kids to find and take photos of. The first two kids to fulfill the list each won a camera. Congratulations to Sasha and the Lee kids! We raised $100, all of which was donated to No Kid Hungry. Some of our favorite photos are posted below. We’re really glad the kids had fun with this and were able to help out other kids at the same time. We will definitely do this fun event again in the near future!

Rev. Paul Young Mok is the president of Wycliffe University and will oversee the distribution during his trip to Africa in summer 2021. Godspeed!
The Giving Mood hosted a special charity Bingo event and raised $275, all of which was donated to Stop AAPI Hate.
